Feeling lots of feelings today as it is my last week of rotations!!! It’s honestly a little hard to process it all because it’s flown by so quickly. I hate saying that because it’s like “duh, time flies”, but really this has been like a flash of light. Maybe my brain is a bit fried so I am having a hard time thinking back on it all, but I am looking forward to having some time for processing and reflecting.
For now, let’s recap the weekend.
Terry and I went to a lovely Good Friday service a church on Friday night. We also neared the end of 13 Reasons Why.
I went running on Saturday morning and then to work and then the real treat of the weekend -> seeing my Nashville friends- Paige and Andrew.
Paige was in town to see her family, so the four of us took a quick trip to Charleston to spend some time together. The water was lovely, the weather was delightfully warm.
We stopped for dinner at Groucho’s and all grabbed sandwiches. I went with the Chicken Critter that had grilled chicken topped with herbed slaw. Whole grain mustard for dipping!
We got home at a reasonable hour, but did an unreasonable thing and stayed up until 2:30 am (yikes!) to finish the series mentioned above. I have mixed feelings about the premise of show, but thought the acting/dialogue was powerful and gripping. Obviously the storyline drags you in since we had to finish it and stay up way beyond my bedtime.
Needless to say, Sunday morning when my alarm clock when off at 7 am, I was thinking “really?”.
I woke up early to get started on the carrot cake that I planned to make for dessert following our Easter lunch. After making the cake, I
whipped up blundered a banana pancake. No worries, taste remained thankfully.
Terry, my niece Abbi, and I all really enjoyed the church service. Easter Sundays always feel special (even without a basket from the Easter bunny).
We had a yummy lunch and then spent the afternoon hanging out with my parents. The carrot cake got everyone’s approval! I used Sally’s recipe.
Now it’s time to gear up for the week… the last week I’ll ever spend in a hospital as an intern!
Now you tell me-
Do you have any Easter traditions?
