The smoothie that works

I think there’s a chance I could turn into a “smoothie for breakfast” kind of person.

Normally, the idea of a smoothie doesn’t sound filling enough for me to have for breakfast. However, I’ve recently found one that I really like! Here’s my “recipe” (approximate measures): 6 oz greek yogurt, 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup almond milk, 2 tbsp PB2, 2-3 handfuls of spinach, and lots of ice. This makes a thick, creamy smoothie. Thickness is really important for me in terms of satisfaction. That counts for milkshakes too ;).

Since I haven’t began work yet, I was able to go grocery shopping at 9 am yesterday. The store was practically deserted. I loved having the space to take my time and go back and forth up the aisles. I pretty much only shop at Aldi, so if you’ve been to an Aldi before, you know that is a luxury. I’ll enjoy it while I can. Speaking of grocery stores, I hope to do a grocery haul/meal plan post real soon. I know how helpful those are for me.

While there, I restocked my favorite chocolate:

I spent the rest of the day poolside with my friend as we studied away for the RD exam. Lunch was a bunch of snack-y things:

The pool was a nice perk to the mundane reading that will be my life for the next couple of weeks. It’s a lot to put in my brain, but thankfully the course I paid a pretty penny for has promised good results for most people. Wish me luck and pray for good concentration!

Oh and before you do anything else, read this post! Ideal body weight is a construct that bugs me to no end, so I love this take on happy weight vs. ideal body weight.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. I am so not a smoothie person, but this would be the kind that I would make for myself. Must have the frozen banana and peanut butter or pB2. Where I work now, we don’t get breaks, but we have the craziest selection of smoothies we can drink as we work (for a good discount) so I’ll be forced to become a frequent smoothie drinker.
Wishing you all the good concentration vibes I can. Hope the pool cleared your head and got it ready!

  2. Happy weight always! 🙂 <3 I'm learning to embrace that more and more, especially as I haven't weighed myself in a while.

I agree with about smoothies. I love them thick and creamy and filled with lots of good fats. That often keeps me full! I can't do too many veggies and fruits without yogurt or PB or AB, because it isn't filling enough.
